Factory relocation: a planning checklist

Start with an inventory, site readiness and a clear division of responsibilities.

PLANNING GUIDE

Organise the move before the first machine leaves

Begin with an inventory of everything that must move. Record identification, dimensions, available weights and the intended positions. Include separate accessories and control cabinets so the discussion reflects the complete requirement.

Map the departure and arrival sequence. Some equipment may need access that becomes restricted once other machines are positioned. Share the destination layout early and identify spaces that must remain clear.

Clarify preparation responsibilities. Maintenance staff, a machine supplier or qualified specialists may be needed for disconnections and manufacturer-specific preparation. Do not assume these tasks belong to a physical movement quotation.

Provide photos of entrances, internal routes, loading areas and destination positions. Identify the people coordinating site entry and receipt. Discuss access restrictions before dates are confirmed.

A useful quotation request includes inventory, locations, timing, photos and required support. This guide is a planning prompt; machine-specific work requires an appropriate assessment.
